Consulting Overview
GreenDot Consulting offers a wide range of programming and application development using Microsoft Office products, MS Project and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
VBA can completely automate mundane or repetitive tasks and offers connectivity between Microsoft Office applications. For example; VBA in Microsoft Access can send emails with attachments automatically or reconcile itself with external applications such as SAP or MYOB, and this is only the beginning!
Here are some examples of recent projects:
Microsoft PowerPoint
We recently designed a PowerPoint presentation that ran as a quiz engine. The presentation asked a series of questions on occupational health and safety, to ensure employees were properly trained. If the employee got the answer correct they could move into the next slide, if not, they would need to watch a video on workplace safety. All the quiz results across the organization were tracked so managerial reports could be developed, showing statistics on OH & S knowledge across the entire organization.
Microsoft Access
Access is a powerful database application that can store massive amounts of information, automate common tasks and produce detailed reports on data. GreenDot has designed and implemented many Access databases, from Laundromat management systems to CCTV. Read more about recent database projects.
Microsoft Excel
Many organisations use Excel extensively in every day business tasks, but don't realise how easily you can automate Excel! Our most recent project in Excel took data from a corporate payment system and reconciled the data against the corporate accounting package to ensure the payments leaving the organisation matched the invoices in the accounting system. This system has saved thousands of dollars in only a few weeks and continues to pay for itself daily!
MS Project
A large mining company uses MS Project to schedule long-wall mining equipment and wall supports. It's important to know how close the people putting the wall support up are to the mining machinery. So we developed a detailed, custom scheduling package that is fully automated. It predicts time frames automatically at a variable work speed, shows graphically where the mining equipment is and how close it is to the wall support workers. There are few people who know that MS Project can be automated, so talk to us if you would like more information or a demonstration.
